Issued at 942 PM CDT Fri Jun 5 2026 Courtesy of a strengthening 588-591 dam heat ridge, drier trends (compared to the past several days) featuring mainly rain-free weather is expected to prevail through next week. There could be a rogue shower or thunderstorm on Sunday or Monday. Normal to slightly warmer than normal temperatures can be expected through next week. High temperatures are expected to run between the lower-mid 90s near the coast to the mid to upper 90s west. Meanwhile, overnight lows are expected to be mainly in the 70s (80s across much of Cameron County) through next week. Heat Risk is expected to increase this weekend becoming widespread Sunday through next week in conjunction with the strengthening heat ridge. Currently, we have Moderate (Level 2 of 5) Heat Risk developing over much, if not all, of Deep South Texas on Saturday and persisting through next Saturday.
