Issued at 1045 AM EDT Fri Jun 5 2026 Scattered showers with occasional isolated thunderstorms have continued on this morning throughout the offshore and nearshore waters of the Keys. GOES-19 Visible Satelitte reveals mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures across the island chain are in the lower 80s with dew points in the mid 70s making for a "cooler" June day. Along the Reef, easterly breezes near 15 knots have been prevailing outside of slightly higher gusts due to convection. As the day continues on, shower activity is expected to start waning in coverage and strength and by tonight rain chances will be near normal for this time of year. Gentle to moderate breezes will continue through the weekend. && .MARINE... Issued at 1045 AM EDT Fri Jun 5 2026 No watches, warnings, or advisories are currently in effect for the Florida Keys. From synopsis, an expansive eastern United States surface high will move off the Carolina Coast today and then push out into the Atlantic over the next few days. As a result mostly moderate easterly breezes, will gradually give way to gentle to moderate easterlies this weekend. The recent bout of increased shower and thunderstorm activity is nearing its end, and convective potential will fall closer to normal through this period. Early next week the high will have pushed out into the Atlantic and weak troughing is expected to set up over Cuba and the Bahamas. This will tip breezes a bit further southeasterly with, initially, some additional slackening. && .AVIATION... (15Z TAFS) Issued at 1045 AM EDT Fri Jun 5 2026 VFR conditions will prevail at both EYW and MTH through the TAF period. Showers are still possible at either terminal therefore VCSH is included at both and TEMPOs for direct impacts will be included if/when needed. Near surface winds will continue to be northeast to east at near 10 knots. && .KEY WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... FL...None.
