398 FXUS64 KOHX 050330 AFDOHX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Nashville TN 1030 PM CDT Thu Jun 4 2026 ...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 1030 PM CDT Thu Jun 4 2026 - Rain-free weather with lower humidity through Saturday. - Temperatures warming back into the mid to upper 80s this weekend, with some 90s possible later next week. - Rain and storm chances will return on Sunday and extend into next week. The risk of severe storms is very low for the foreseeable future. && .SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Saturday Night) Issued at 1030 PM CDT Thu Jun 4 2026 We are going to get to enjoy another day of great weather on Friday. The upper level ridge will remain in place with a surface high set up to our southeast. Humidity will remain comfortable with dew points in the lower 60s. Highs will top out in the lower to mid 80s once again. A weak short wave will spin around the upper level ridge and pass to our northwest, this will bring some mid to high level clouds throughout the day. The upper level ridge will start to drift south on Saturday but we won't see much change in the forecast. Highs will be a touch warmer making it into the mid to upper 80s and dew points will tick up some but they still won't be too bad. We will see a bit more cloud cover as short waves pass to our west but it will remain dry. && .LONG TERM... (Sunday through next Friday) Issued at 1030 PM CDT Thu Jun 4 2026 As we head into Sunday the upper level ridge will continue to drift south and an upper level low will slowly move out of TX into the Plains. This will start to push moisture north and we will see dew points climb back to summer level in the mid 60s to lower 70s. The upper level substance we have been seeing the last several days will erode. This will bring the return of scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly during the afternoons and early evenings. Overall we won't see much forcing Sunday and that will keep the chances low but chances will increase for Monday as that upper level low lifts to our north. After that forcing will once again be weak but with the hot and humid air mass in place we will continue to see chances for scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Upper level flow will be very weak and that will keep the severe threat very low but PWATs will build back above 1.50" and heavy rain can be expected with any thunderstorms. Highs will remain in the mid to upper 80s but as we head towards the end of the week chances of lower 90s will creep above 50%. && .AVIATION...
