...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM CDT THIS

EVENING FOR NORTHEASTERN GAINES COUNTY...



At 756 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated

thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. 1 to 2

inches of rain may fall in a very short period of time. Flash

flooding is ongoing and expected to continue.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.



SOURCE...Emergency management reported flash flooding over the

         roadway on State Highway 83, between Seagraves and Loop.



IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban

         areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Seagraves, Seagraves Airport, Loop and Gaines County Park,

  including State Highway 83 and US Highway 62.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
