...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING

FOR NORTHWESTERN DAWSON AND NORTHEASTERN GAINES COUNTIES...



At 829 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy

rain across the warned area. Flash flooding has been reported on

State Highway 83, between Seagraves and Loop. This line of storms is

expected to produce additional heavy rainfall and flash flooding

between Loop and Welch.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban

         areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Welch, including State Highway 137 and Highway 83.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.



Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
