...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CDT THIS

AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHWESTERN DAWSON COUNTY...



At 315 PM CDT, Trained weather spotters reported water over the

roadway on US Highway 80 West and County Road A in Dawson County.

Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing

and is expected to continue.



HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing

         flash flooding.



SOURCE...Trained spotters.



IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban

         areas, highways, streets and underpasses.



Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...

  Mainly rural areas of Southwestern Dawson County.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
