...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT THIS MORNING...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.



* WHERE...Portions of central, southern, and southwest Oklahoma, 

  including the following counties, in central Oklahoma, Grady. In 

  southern Oklahoma, Stephens. In southwest Oklahoma, Caddo and 

  Comanche.



* WHEN...Until 700 AM CDT.



* IMPACTS...Flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water 

  over roadways.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 505 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin

    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 7 inches of rain

    have fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over

    the area. This additional rain will result in flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Eastern Lawton, Chickasha, Elgin, Rush Springs, Fletcher,

    Cyril, Sterling, Verden, Cement, Norge, Agawam, eastern Fort

    Sill, Central High, Ninnekah, Acme and Laverty.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 

dangers of flooding.
