...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM CDT SATURDAY...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following 

  counties, Haskell, Jones, Shackelford and Throckmorton.



* WHEN...Until 1215 AM CDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

  Street flooding possible in Hawley, Anson, Stamford, Haskell and 

  Lueders.

 



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 1021 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain with

    showers and thunderstorms repeatedly tracking north across

    the area. Rainfall amounts of  1 to 2 inches are expected to

    occur in a short period of time. Minor flooding is ongoing or

    expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Northeastern Abilene, Haskell, Stamford, Anson, Throckmorton,

    Rule, Hawley, Lueders, Rochester, Weinert, O'Brien, Lake

    Stamford Marina, Paint Creek, Avoca, Irby, Nugent, Sagerton,

    Millers Creek Reservoir, Noodle and Big Country Baptist

    Assembly.

  - This includes the following Low Water Crossings...

    CO Rd. 444 crossing Noodle Creek, CO Rd. 212 crossing

    California Creek, Loop Road crossing Paint Creek, County Road

    274 crossing Brushy Creek, crossings along County Road 247,

    County Road 279 crossing North Paint Creek, County Road 245

    crossing California Creek, County Road 242 crossing Flag

    Branch, County Road 260 crossing Harmony Creek and County

    Road 261 crossing Cottonwood Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is 

harder to see the dangers of flooding.
