DISCUSSION...



Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon

from southeast Oklahoma up into northwest Arkansas. The activity

should die off with the loss of daytime heating this evening.

Severe weather is not expected.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...



An unsettled weather pattern is forecast this weekend, as an upper

level wave lifts northeast over the region. Numerous showers and

storms are expected, with locally heavy rainfall the main threat.

Severe weather potential looks pretty low, but does tick up a

little over far southeast Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon.



Shower and thunderstorm chances will decrease next week, and the 

heat will turn up as a ridge of high pressure builds. Afternoon 

heat indices above 100 degrees are expected, and some locations 

may reach dangerous levels at 105 degrees or higher.
