...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN EDDY AND WEST

CENTRAL LEA COUNTIES THROUGH 730 PM MDT...



At 705 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near

Maljamar, or 30 miles west of Lovington, moving southeast at 10 mph.



HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.



SOURCE...Radar indicated.



IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around 

         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is 

         possible.



Locations impacted include...

Maljamar, Lea County Zip Franklin Memorial Airport, and Loco Hills.



PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. 



Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.
